The building was constructed in 1953 as a nursing and retirement home, designed by architect Ture Ryberg for Stockholm City's welfare administration. Following its acquisition by Wonna I de Jong in 2018, it was transformed into the modern commercial property known as Wonna Tower.
The Stockholm City Museum designated Glaven 8 with green classification, recognizing its architectural and historical value within the 1950s Swedish public housing.
