Roháčsky vodopád, Mountain waterfall in Tvrdošín District, Slovakia.
Roháčsky vodopád is a waterfall in Tvrdošín District that drops in two stages down the Spálený Stream. The water tumbles over rocky ledges and creates a misty spray at the base, where a small pool has formed from the falling water.
The name comes from the Roháče mountain range, which has shaped the local geography for centuries. The area was used by herders and settlers who adapted to the high elevations of the mountains.
The surrounding Tatra Mountains provide a natural backdrop for local Slovak traditions, including seasonal mountain shepherding and folk celebrations.
The waterfall is accessible via a marked trail from Adamcula, with the path offering mostly flat sections and a few short climbs. The area can be visited year-round, though spring and summer provide the best water flow visibility.
The water changes dramatically in volume and power depending on the season, creating different visual patterns with each visit. In spring the current is strongest, while in summer it flows more gently, and in fall and winter noticeably less water descends.
