Lysák, Mountain summit in Sobrance District, Slovakia
Lysák is a mountain summit in eastern Slovakia located near the Ukrainian border within Sobrance District. The peak reaches approximately 821 meters and rises above the surrounding lowlands of the eastern Slovak countryside.
Sobrance District received its current administrative form in 1996 during major reorganization of eastern Slovakia's governance structure. The mountain has long served as a reference point for the communities settled across the surrounding landscape.
Local hiking paths around Lysák connect multiple municipalities of the district, where Slovak, Ruthenian, and Ukrainian communities maintain their traditions.
Marked hiking trails from nearby villages lead to the summit and offer relatively straightforward access for walkers of different fitness levels. The best season for climbing runs from April through October when weather conditions remain most stable.
From the summit you can see both the Eastern Slovak Lowland stretching westward and the Vihorlatské Hills rising to the east. This vantage point functions as a natural overlook for the frontier region.
