Altınpark, Public park in Altındağ, Turkey
Altınpark is a large recreational space in Ankara with extensive green areas and an artificial lake at its center. The park features multiple zones including restaurants, an Olympic swimming pool, pedal boats, electric cars, small trains, and entertainment areas designed for visitors of all ages.
The site was a golf course until 1977, when the city began transforming it into public recreational space. A design competition in 1985 shaped the park's current layout and features.
The Feza Gürsey Science Center draws visitors into interactive learning about science and nature through hands-on exhibits. This space has become a focal point where people of all ages explore scientific ideas together.
The park has many zones to explore, so arriving early helps you spend time in the areas that interest you most. While the zones are walkable, the grounds are expansive and comfortable shoes plus water are helpful for spending a full day here.
A dedicated flower nursery and plant sales area operates within the park, offering visitors the chance to purchase plants and take them home. Many visitors pass by this quiet zone without noticing it exists.
