Anadolu Feneri, Historical lighthouse at Black Sea entrance, Istanbul, Turkey

The cylindrical masonry tower rises 19 meters above ground level, featuring a gallery around the lantern room and an attached two-story keeper's house.

French engineer François Baron de Tott documented the first lighthouse at this location in 1755, while the current structure began operations in 1856.

The name Anadolu Feneri comes from Turkish words meaning Anatolian Lighthouse, marking the Asian side entrance of the Bosphorus strait into Istanbul.

The lighthouse operates with electric power and maintains a backup butane gas system, providing essential navigation guidance for vessels entering the Bosphorus.

This lighthouse forms a connecting line with Rumeli Feneri on the European shore, establishing the northern boundary of Istanbul's port at 3.7 kilometers apart.
