Bentler Nature Park

Bentler Nature Park is a protected area in Istanbul's Sariyyer district with dense forest crossed by walking paths. The site contains three historic water reservoirs that form part of the larger Belgrad Forest complex.

The three dams were built between 1750 and 1839 to support Istanbul's water supply system. These structures reflect how the city managed its water resources across multiple centuries.

The site contains Ottoman-era water management structures, including historic dams and fountains that remain visible today. Visitors can observe these installations while walking through the forest, seeing how water has shaped daily life in this area for centuries.

Access is available through two entrances: the main Belgrad Forest gate or Kurtkemeri Gate, with fees at both points. Visitors should wear sturdy footwear and allow time to explore the forest paths at a leisurely pace.

A large plane tree over 250 years old stands next to Valide Dam and is registered as a natural monument. Many visitors overlook this tree despite it being a quiet witness to the long connection between nature and human infrastructure.
