Ayvat Bendi Nature Park, Nature park in Kemerburgaz, Turkey.
Ayvat Bendi Nature Park is a protected area within Belgrad Forest featuring oak, beech, and hornbeam trees across roughly 50 hectares. The woodland offers various trails and open spaces for exploring the forest ecosystem.
Ottoman Sultan Mustafa III commissioned the construction of Ayvat Dam on Ayvat Creek in 1765. This landmark became the origin of the name for this protected natural area.
The park serves as a gathering place where nearby residents come to hike, have picnics, and observe wildlife in their natural surroundings. Local people use these woods throughout the year as part of their everyday outdoor activities and connection to nature.
The park can be reached by city bus lines 42M or 42HM to Bahçeköy, then continuing by taxi to the main entrance. Walking through the forest trails from the entrance area provides the best way to experience the woodland.
Visitors can observe wild boars, golden jackals, deer, and wolves living in their natural forest habitat. These animal encounters in a protected space make the park an important refuge for larger woodland creatures in the region.
