Kirazlıbent Nature Park

Kirazlıbent Nature Park is a protected reserve within the Belgrade Forest that covers nearly 1,900 hectares and features mixed woodlands with sessile oak, chestnut, and hornbeam trees. The grounds include hiking trails, cycling paths, and designated picnic areas for visitors.

Sultan Mahmud II ordered the construction of a dam on Kirazlı Creek in 1818, which gave the area its present name. The site later became protected as one of several natural reserves within the broader forest system.

The park serves as a green refuge within the urban landscape, where Istanbul residents come to spend time outdoors and connect with nature. It remains a valued community space for recreation and escape from city life.

The park is accessible for hiking, cycling, and picnicking, with separate zones designed for children's activities and play. Wearing proper footwear is recommended, especially if you plan to explore the longer trails.

The forest harbors red deer, golden jackals, foxes, and wild boars among its resident wildlife. Turtles and numerous bird species also call the park home, making it a habitat for a diverse range of animals.
