Falih Rıfkı Atay Nature Park

Falih Rıfkı Atay Nature Park is a protected nature park in the Sarıyer district of Istanbul spanning about 16 hectares with diverse woodland and recreational areas. The grounds include hiking trails, cycling paths, and children's playgrounds throughout the property.

The park was established in 2011 to protect a former settlement area with a complex past. Following the 1521 Siege of Belgrade, Serbian captives were resettled in this location, making it a place layered with history.

The park is named after Turkish journalist and writer Falih Rıfkı Atay, linking environmental conservation with literary heritage. This connection between nature protection and intellectual life is woven into the identity of the place.

Entry to the park requires a fee for both individuals and vehicles. Wear comfortable shoes and allow time to explore the different areas and pathways at your own pace.

Inside the park, a deer breeding station allows visitors to see fallow deer up close. Historic structures including an ancient church registered as cultural heritage since 1999 are preserved on the grounds, offering glimpses into the region's religious past.
