Antalya Harbour

Antalya Harbour is an active port and historic marina in the old town of Antalya on Turkey's Mediterranean coast. The site includes both a large cargo terminal with modern crane equipment and a smaller harbour lined with restaurants, cafes, and private yachts.

The harbour was built in the 1960s and has since grown into one of Turkey's most important ports. The older marina in Kaleiçi dates back to Hellenistic times and was later used and expanded by Romans, Byzantines, Seljuks, and Ottomans.

The harbour has long served as a meeting point for different peoples and trading cultures across centuries. Today, this legacy remains visible in the restored buildings and boats that locals and visitors share in the same waterfront space.

The harbour is easy to reach on foot or by bus from the old town center and is accessible throughout the day. The best time to explore is in the afternoon or evening, when restaurants and cafes fill up and evening lighting enhances the historic setting.

Nearby lies the wreck of a French warship called Saint Didier, which sank in 1942 and now rests about 1 kilometer offshore on the sea bed. Divers regularly explore this underwater site and discover a piece of World War II maritime history.
