Five Ponds Wilderness Area, Protected wilderness in Adirondack Park, United States.

The Five Ponds Wilderness extends across 107,230 acres of forested terrain with numerous lakes, ponds, and wetlands in northern New York State.

Native American artifacts dating from 15,000 to 7,000 BCE have been discovered in this region, indicating long-term human presence in the area.

The wilderness maintains 14 traditional Adirondack lean-to shelters throughout its territory, preserving the regional outdoor recreation heritage.

Visitors can access 60 miles of marked trails for activities including hiking, fishing, hunting, trapping, and canoeing across the protected landscape.

This wilderness contains some of the last remaining virgin timber stands in the northeastern United States, particularly along Glasby Creek.
