Glad tidings tabernacle, Church building in Harlem, Manhattan, New York City, United States.

Glad Tidings Tabernacle occupies a location on Adam Clayton Powell Jr Boulevard between West 130th and 131st Street in Manhattan's Harlem district. The structure itself dates to the 1800s and was initially built for a different religious congregation.

The congregation began in 1907 as a small mission with only a handful of seats and eventually grew into one of the largest Assemblies of God communities in the nation. The building itself originated in 1867 and changed religious affiliations over time.

The congregation plays an active role in Harlem's religious life, hosting regular worship gatherings and community events. Visitors experience the vibrant spiritual practice of a long-established assembly community.

The building sits on a main boulevard with good walkability and straightforward access from nearby streets. Regular worship services take place, so visiting is best planned around scheduled meeting times when the space is open to community members.

The current building was originally constructed in 1867 as Pilgrims Baptist Church before later becoming home to the Glad Tidings congregation. This transformation shows how structures in the city took on new purposes and served different communities.
