Bronx Children's Museum

The Bronx Children's Museum is located in Mill Pond Park and features interactive exhibits with hands-on learning opportunities in arts, science, and the local environment. The spaces are specifically designed for children to explore independently and develop new skills through experimentation.

The museum started in 2011 as a mobile project with a purple bus traveling throughout the Bronx bringing learning opportunities to children everywhere. After a decade of this traveling work, the museum established a permanent location in 2022.

The museum displays the diverse cultures of the Bronx through exhibitions that help children discover their local community and its traditions. Visitors can explore spaces showing how people in the neighborhood live and work.

The museum is located on the second floor of the building at 725 Exterior Street and opens during two specific times each day. Visitors should check which days and hours work for their planned visit to make the most of their time there.

A special highlight is the Maker Space, where children work with Rigamajig building kits and train their technical and creative abilities. These special materials offer an unusual approach to hands-on learning and construction.
