The white farmhouse features multiple levels, dormers, gable windows, and several porches built with local materials across its ten rooms.
Constructed from 1895 to 1912 by Almanzo Wilder, the residence became a National Historic Landmark in 1991 and a National Register of Historic Places site.
Laura Ingalls Wilder created her complete Little House book series at Rocky Ridge Farm, where she resided from 1896 until her death in 1957.
The museum contains original furnishings, manuscripts, and artifacts, with guided tours available through the Laura Ingalls Wilder Home Association.
The property includes both the main farmhouse and the Rock Cottage, connected by a third-mile pathway through the original forty-acre farmland.
