The structure, listed in the National Register of Historic Places in March 1980, operated as a significant shoe manufacturing facility during the late nineteenth century.
The building now houses the Sycamore Gallery art collection on its street level, connected to the University of Cincinnati College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning.
The former industrial facility has been transformed into luxury loft apartments known as Sycamore Place, with retail spaces occupying the ground floor.
The building stands as a testament to Cincinnati's industrial heritage through its preserved architecture and successful adaptation from manufacturing to residential use.
