Fountain Square, Cincinnati, Public square with central fountain in Downtown Cincinnati, United States.

Fountain Square is a public plaza in downtown Cincinnati where the Tyler Davidson Fountain stands as the central focal point with its bronze sculpture. The space features seating areas, trees, and ornate architectural details of surrounding buildings that frame the square.

The square emerged in 1871 with the installation of the fountain, funded by businessman Henry Probasco as a memorial to his brother-in-law. This monument marked the beginning of the site's development as a central gathering place for the city.

The square hosts concerts, film screenings, and seasonal celebrations throughout the year that bring the community together. These events shape the rhythm of downtown life and make the place a social gathering point for residents.

The square is located at the corner of Fifth Street and Vine Street and is easy to find; public restrooms and free wireless internet are available. Visitors should know the square is active year-round and can get quite busy during peak times and special events.

During winter the square transforms into an ice skating rink where visitors glide beneath the illuminated fountain and surrounding skyscrapers. This seasonal use creates a special experience during the colder months.
