PNC Tower, High-rise building at 4th and Vine Street, Cincinnati, United States
PNC Tower is a high-rise building in downtown Cincinnati located at the corner of 4th and Vine Street, designed with Greek Revival elements inspired by ancient architecture. The structure spans 31 stories and stands approximately 150 meters (495 feet) tall.
The building was completed in 1913 and ranked as the fifth tallest structure globally at that time. It remained Cincinnati's highest building until the Carew Tower was finished in 1931.
The tower appeared in television series like The Edge of Night and WKRP in Cincinnati, becoming part of the city's visual identity. Its presence in popular media helped shape how locals and visitors perceived downtown Cincinnati's character.
The building is located in downtown Cincinnati and is easily accessible by public transportation or on foot from nearby areas. The surrounding streets offer good sightlines and pedestrian routes for viewing the structure from different angles.
The original construction in 1913 incorporated six elevators, which was an engineering achievement for its time and made vertical living practical. This elevator system allowed efficient movement throughout the building and set a standard for tall structures of that era.
