Lloyd House, Georgian mansion in Alexandria, United States.
The Lloyd House features five symmetrical bays on its facade, with detailed Flemish-bond brickwork and a prominent pedimented doorway containing a traceried lunette.
Constructed in 1796 by John Wise, who also built Gadsby's Tavern, the house later became residence to Charles Lee, who served as attorney general in presidential administrations.
Benjamin Hallowell established an educational institution within the house from 1826 to 1831, where his wife conducted classes for female students on the second floor.
The Lloyd House, located at 220 North Washington Street, currently houses the administrative offices of Historic Alexandria and accepts reservations for private functions.
During World War II, the building provided accommodation for members of the Navy Women's Reserve while they performed duties at the Naval Torpedo Station.
