Lost River Cave, Show cave and protected area in Bowling Green, Kentucky, United States.
Lost River Cave spans seven miles underground, featuring a natural entrance and a river that flows through limestone passages formed during the Mississippian Period.
The cave provided shelter to Paleo-Indians 10,000 years ago, who used Clovis spear points to hunt large animals near its entrance.
During the 1930s, the cave housed the Cavern Nite Club, which attracted visitors with live performances in its naturally temperature-controlled environment.
The cave offers year-round boat tours through its underground passages, along with two miles of nature trails and educational programs for visitors.
The river appears above ground in three separate sections before flowing into the cave's entrance, creating an unusual geological formation.
