Mill Creek Park

Mill Creek Park spans 4,400 acres with gardens, waterfalls, lakes, and natural areas connected by 20 miles of scenic drives and 45 miles of trails.

Volney Rogers established Mill Creek Park in 1891 as the first park district in Ohio, protecting the land from industrial development during Youngstown's rapid growth.

Fellows Riverside Gardens at the northern section features twelve acres of diverse plant displays, attracting 400,000 visitors annually to its seasonal exhibitions and collections.

The park maintains two 18-hole championship golf courses, multiple hiking trails, boating facilities, fishing spots, and recreational areas for year-round outdoor activities.

Lanterman's Mill, constructed in 1845, continues to operate as a working mill, grinding corn, wheat, and buckwheat using traditional 19th-century methods.
