Beeghly Center

Beeghly Center is a sports facility at Youngstown State University that houses multiple activity areas under one roof. Inside are a main arena, an Olympic-size swimming pool, and additional training spaces for students and athletes.

The building opened in 1972 thanks to funding from a local business leader who supported higher education in the region. It became the main hub for university sports and recreation activities.

The plaza in front honors military service members and shows how the community values veterans. Visitors see memorials that recognize local soldiers and their sacrifice.

The main arena seats nearly 4,600 people and was renovated recently with modern seating and technology upgrades. Visitors will find clear sightlines, good signage, and accessible entry points throughout.

A specialized center opened in 2023 offering training and medical care specifically for student athletes. This addition shows the university's commitment to supporting the health and performance of its competitors.
