Sayen Park Botanical Garden

Sayen Park Botanical Garden is a landscaped garden spanning about 30 acres with extensive plant collections including azaleas, rhododendrons, and flowering bulbs arranged along walking trails and ponds. The grounds feature multiple areas for strolling and discovering water features.

Frederick Sayen established the garden in 1912 after purchasing land near his family's rubber manufacturing facility. His plant interests developed through travels around the world during his early years.

The garden displays Japanese design with ornamental bridges and water features that invite visitors to pause. These design elements create quiet spaces for reflection and nature watching.

The garden is open daily from sunrise to sunset with no admission charge. Visitors can walk on marked trails and see the most blooms during warmer months.

The garden holds many plant species from China, Japan, and England that Sayen gathered during his early international travels. This exotic collection makes the property a rare example of botanical collecting from that era.
