Vinton Building, Neoclassical building in Downtown Detroit, United States

The Vinton Building at 600 Woodward Avenue is a 12-story office structure featuring terra cotta details and a peaked parapet along its front elevation. It connects directly to the First National Parking Garage and houses a ground-level restaurant.

The structure was completed in 1917 under the design of architect Albert Kahn and earned recognition as a Michigan State Historic Site in 1982. It gained listing on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The building reflects how Detroit's downtown served as a center of commerce during the early twentieth century, when major businesses established their offices in the core. You can observe the grand lobby spaces and solid construction that speak to that era's economic confidence.

The building connects directly to a parking garage, making vehicle access straightforward. Nearby shops and dining options are within easy walking distance.

The structure underwent complete renovation in 2017, converting office space into luxury residential units while preserving its exterior historic details. This adaptive reuse brought new life to the interior while maintaining the building's heritage character.
