One Woodward Avenue, International Style skyscraper in Detroit Financial District, United States
One Woodward Avenue rises 28 floors with white marble piers and narrow windows set in pre-cast concrete panels along each side of the building.
Architect Minoru Yamasaki designed this commercial structure in 1962 as the Michigan Consolidated Gas Company headquarters, preceding his work on the World Trade Center.
The building incorporates a bronze sculpture titled Passo di Danza by Italian artist Giacomo Manzu, depicting a ballet dancer in the entrance fountain.
The structure contains 447,725 square feet of office space, underground parking access from Larned Street, and direct connections to Detroit's Financial District.
The three-story glass lobby features 82 thirty-foot panels and custom lighting fixtures designed with sculptor Lee DuSell to represent gas flames.
