Majestic Theatre, Historic movie theater on Collinsville Avenue, East St. Louis, United States.

The Spanish Gothic style building features multicolored tile mosaics, decorative piers with peaks, and tall arched windows across its front facade.

The 1928 Majestic Theatre, designed by the Boller Brothers for Harry Redmon and Fred Leber, replaced an earlier theater that burned down in 1907.

The 1,743-seat theater opened with performances by Al Jolson and George Jessel, marking a milestone in East St. Louis entertainment history.

The installation of modern air conditioning system and vitaphone equipment made this theater a leader in patron comfort and sound film presentation.

This million-dollar theater became the first cinema in Southern Illinois to present sound films through its advanced vitaphone system in September 1928.
