Security Building

The Security Building reaches eleven stories high, featuring granite on its first two floors and pink limestone with brick construction on the upper levels.

Constructed in 1892 by architectural firm Peabody and Stearns, this structure emerged during the rapid commercial development of St. Louis in the late nineteenth century.

The building stands as one of only eight remaining tall office structures from more than thirty constructed in St. Louis during the 1890s economic expansion.

Located at 319 North Fourth Street, the Security Building maintains its original purpose as an office space while offering modern amenities to current tenants.

The building received recognition on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000, with reference number 00000083, confirming its architectural importance.
