Bard College Campus

The 1,000-acre campus stretches along the eastern shore of the Hudson River, featuring over 70 buildings that combine Collegiate Gothic and Postmodern architectural styles.

Founded in 1860 from several rural estates, the institution began as a parish school established by John and Margaret Bard on their Annandale property.

The Fisher Center for the Performing Arts, designed by Frank Gehry, stands as a metal-clad structure hosting theater productions, dance performances, and musical events.

The campus includes three interconnected library buildings, multiple student dormitories, academic facilities, and research centers distributed across four distinct geographic regions.

A small cemetery within the campus grounds contains the final resting places of intellectual figures including writer Hannah Arendt and author Philip Roth.
