History
The building was constructed in 1852 and served as an Episcopal orphanage under the patronage of Margaret Rebecca Armstrong Astor. It closed in 1872 after providing care to children from the Episcopal community for two decades.

The facility provided essential care and shelter for orphaned children of the Episcopal community in Dutchess County until its closure in 1932.
