Victoria Theater, Historic theater in downtown Wheeling, United States.
The Victoria Theater is an entertainment venue in downtown Wheeling with 750 seats. The building displays Victorian architecture and Beaux-Arts design, preserving its original structural elements and decorative features from the early 1900s.
The theater opened its doors in 1904 and became West Virginia's oldest operating theater. It has maintained continuous operations as an entertainment venue for more than a century since its founding.
The venue hosts a wide range of performances from country and gospel music to bluegrass and rock concerts. These shows reflect the musical traditions that matter to the local community and bring diverse audiences together regularly.
The venue is easy to locate and well-signed for visitors. It is helpful to arrive early on performance nights to find parking and enjoy the surrounding downtown area.
In 1934, the building hosted the WWVA Jamboree, which later became Jamboree USA and remains on the air today. This radio program ranks among the longest-running broadcasts in American history.
