935-939 Broadway, Commercial building from 1862 in Flatiron District, Manhattan, United States.

The six-story brownstone structure at 935-939 Broadway features Renaissance elements including pediments over windows and decorated capitals across its facade.

Commissioned by Richard Mortimer in 1861, architect Griffith Thomas designed this Italianate building, which received its sixth floor addition in 1919.

The American Institute of Architects established its offices in the building in 1866 and organized its third annual convention there in 1869.

The ground floor spaces have traditionally served retail purposes while upper floors contained offices, maintaining this commercial configuration since construction.

In 1895, a fire at Pach Brothers studio caused water damage throughout the building, resulting in losses of approximately 40,000 dollars.
