Brookfield Asset Management initiated land acquisition for Manhattan West in the 1980s, with construction beginning in 2015 after securing Skadden as anchor tenant.

The building incorporates Italian travertine, Canadian stone floors, and wood paneling in its 45-foot-high lobby, reflecting international materials in its design.

The location provides direct access to Pennsylvania Station, Hudson Yards subway station, PATH trains, and numerous bus routes for employee transportation.

The structure spans active railroad tracks, requiring a reinforced concrete core and diagonal steel supports to transfer loads to the building's foundation.
