Charles Stewart Mott Foundation Building, Art Deco office building in downtown Flint, United States.

The Charles Stewart Mott Foundation Building is a 16-story Art Deco office structure in downtown Flint featuring geometric shapes and hexagonal patterns across its facade. The exterior displays angled arches and distinctive design details that reflect the interior layout.

Architect Wirt C. Rowland designed the building in 1928 for Union Industrial Bank, and upon its completion in 1930, it became the first skyscraper in Flint. This structure marked an important moment in the city's urban growth.

The building has long served as home to the Mott Foundation, an organization focused on education and community development across the region. Visitors can see how this structure became a center for local initiatives and programs.

The building houses office spaces for various organizations and can be viewed from the outside to admire its architecture and details. The original freight elevator system from the 1930s remains intact, showcasing the technical history of the structure.

The building featured early use of Nirosta stainless steel for decorative elements and aluminum for window frames, which was innovative in the 1930s. These materials were uncommon in architecture at that time and demonstrate the pioneering spirit of its design.
