Sloan Museum of Discovery

The Sloan Museum of Discovery is a children's museum in Flint featuring four galleries designed for hands-on learning across science, art, vehicles, and regional history. The spaces include both permanent exhibits and rotating displays that change throughout the year.

The museum started in 1980 as an interactive antiques display within another institution before opening its own building downtown in 1986. This move allowed it to grow and focus specifically on children's learning and discovery.

The vehicle galleries display cars that show the region's manufacturing past through restored models and experimental designs from different eras. Walking through these spaces, you see how automobiles shaped the community's identity and daily life.
