Triphammer Falls, Waterfall at Cornell University in Ithaca, United States
Triphammer Falls features two distinct drops with a total height of 40 feet, forming a cascade that feeds into Fall Creek near Cornell University.
The waterfall played a central role in local industry during the early 1900s, powering a hydroelectric station that supplied electricity to the surrounding area.
Students from Cornell University gather at the falls throughout academic terms, making it a central meeting point for campus social activities.
Visitors can access viewing points of the falls from both the Thurston Avenue Bridge and a pedestrian walkway located upstream from the cascade.
The abandoned power station at the base of the falls contains original mechanical equipment from the early twentieth century industrial period.
