The Runaway Tram extends across 922 feet of track, reaching heights of 36 feet and maintaining speeds of 28 miles per hour throughout its course.
The installation in 2019 marked the replacement of the former Flitzer coaster, requiring a complete reconfiguration of multiple rides on the pier at a cost of 4 million dollars.
The design mirrors the appearance of the yellow and blue Wildwood Sightseer Tramcar, which has transported visitors along the boardwalk since 1949.
The roller coaster welcomes riders measuring at least 40 inches tall and operates a single train containing 10 cars that accommodates 20 passengers per cycle.
A tribute figure of John Gigliotti, who drove tramcars on Wildwood Boardwalk for over 25 years, stands permanently mounted on the coaster's caboose.
