Represa El Dique Uraca, Historical dam in Municipio Girardot, Venezuela.
The reinforced concrete dam features a lateral spillway and mobile metal gate along the Uraca national road in Choroní parish of Maracay.
The hydroelectric complex, constructed in 1923 by engineer Carlos Blascitz, provided electricity to the city of Maracay during the early 20th century.
The dam stands as one of Venezuela's first hydroelectric installations, representing the nation's early steps toward industrial development and energy infrastructure.
Located at coordinates 10°25'40"N 67°35'42"W, visitors can access the dam through La Pesita entrance on the Uraca national road.
German technology acquired by H. Ceballos & Company was implemented in the construction of this pioneering Venezuelan hydroelectric facility.
