The Ambulatorio Urbano Dr. Efraín Abad Armas occupies an entire block between Bolivar and Miranda avenues, providing essential medical services to the local population.
Founded in December 1930, this medical facility began as Policlinica de Maracay before receiving its current name in 1995 to honor one of its founding pediatricians.
The building, designed by architect Carlos Guinand Sandoz, features straight lines, a two-story portico, and a symmetrical facade that reflects Venezuelan architectural elements.
The facility serves over 1,500 HIV patients from across Aragua state and houses the Girardot Municipal Health Directorate, which manages the municipal ambulatory network.
The medical center stands as one of Latin America's first modern hospitals and remains a pioneer in Venezuelan surgery, listed as a cultural site of Aragua state.
