Antiguo Hotel Jardín

Antiguo Hotel Jardín is a historical property and national monument in Maracay that displays French architectural influences with a spacious layout. Today the structure houses a television station and radio station and sits south of Plaza Bolívar in the city center.

Built in 1929 and opened in 1930, the structure was designed by architect Carlos Raúl Villanueva during the era of Juan Vicente Gómez. Originally built as a luxury hotel, it later transformed into a government building and reflects how regional needs changed over time.

The building served as a gathering place that reflected Maracay's importance as a regional hub and attracted visitors from across the area. The way it functions today shows how the city shifted from being a luxury destination to an administrative center.

The main entrance is south of Plaza Bolívar, making it easy to locate when walking through downtown. The structure is largely visible from outside and accessible to view, though the interior today serves media companies.

The original cream-colored facade once featured distinctive arches that were removed during structural work, changing the building's appearance significantly. These vanished details remain visible only in older photographs and hint at the place's former grandeur.
