Парк природе Бељанска бара

Beljanska Bara Nature Park is a protected area in Central Backa featuring a shallow, winding waterway with surrounding wetland habitats. The landscape is shaped by loess plateaus and diverse biotopes that develop along the water system.

The area was home to ancient cultures in the past, as shown by archaeological finds nearby. Traces of the Vatin and Dubrovac-Zuto Brdo cultures indicate long human presence in this region.

The park serves as an educational platform where local communities participate in environmental protection initiatives through cleanup activities and plant cultivation programs.

Visitors can explore the area on marked paths and observe the different habitats. The best time to visit is during bird migration seasons when many species pass through.

The wetland hosts 80 flora taxa, 10 plant communities, 23 fish species, 7 amphibian species, 5 reptile species, and 136 bird species.
