Third Ward Historic District

The Third Ward Historic District is a neighborhood in Rochester covering 35 acres with over 100 structures built mainly in Victorian style. The buildings line several streets including Adams Street, Peach Street, and Fitzhugh Street, displaying various architectural styles from that period.

The district developed during the Victorian era and displays architectural styles like Greek Revival, Gothic, and Italian Villa that reflect 1800s development. Its listing on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974 acknowledged the importance of this collection of buildings to local history.

Residents maintain their properties following strict preservation guidelines that reflect the neighborhood's architectural heritage from the 1800s.
