Jersey City 9/11 Memorial, Memorial monument at Exchange Place, Jersey City, US
The Jersey City 9/11 Memorial features steel girders from the original World Trade Center welded into the shape of the letter A on the Hudson River waterfront.
The memorial site served as a triage location during the September 11 boatlift and later became a staging area for rescue operations across from Ground Zero.
A black granite stele displays the names of 38 Jersey City residents who perished in the attacks, with inscriptions reflecting the Lower Manhattan skyline.
Visitors can access the memorial through the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway at the intersection of Grand Street and Exchange Place in Jersey City.
The memorial incorporates a bronze sculpture that rescue workers initially mistook for a real person in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks.
