30 Hudson Street, Office skyscraper in Exchange Place, Jersey City, United States
30 Hudson Street is a 42-story glass and steel tower that rises along the Hudson River waterfront with views toward Manhattan. The 238-meter structure defines the skyline of the Exchange Place district with its modern architectural form.
Architect César Pelli designed this structure, completed in 2004 as the first skyscraper exceeding 200 meters built in New Jersey. Its completion marked a turning point in the region's approach to urban development.
The tower marks Jersey City's shift from an industrial waterfront to a modern business hub. You can see this transformation reflected in how the glass building stands among older structures along the water.
The building is well-served by public transit through the PATH station and Hudson-Bergen Light Rail at Exchange Place and Essex Street nearby. These connections make it easy to visit the area or explore the surrounding waterfront.
Goldman Sachs operates a private ferry service from this building to their Manhattan headquarters to transport employees across the Hudson. This service reflects the strong working connection between Jersey City and the other side of the river.
