Beata Vergine del Soccorso, Baroque church and shrine in San Severo, Italy.
The Beata Vergine del Soccorso features a single nave adorned with neo-Renaissance decorations, a neoclassical dome, and a baroque bell tower from the 18th century.
Originally dedicated to Saint Peter in the 12th century, the church became an Augustinian monastery in 1319 and received its current dedication after the arrival of monks.
The Madonna statue, brought from Sicily in 1564 and modified in 1760, represents the Virgin Mary in her youth and draws numerous pilgrims throughout the year.
The sanctuary holds religious services daily and remains open to visitors, with extended hours during the annual festival celebrated on the last Sunday of May.
The interior displays a collection of gilded wooden angels, an 1815 pipe organ by Pasquale d'Onofrio, and an 18th-century wooden choir section.
