Fantasy Gardens, Amusement park in Richmond, Canada
The Fantasy Gardens featured stone buildings resembling medieval architecture, surrounded by ornamental gardens and a miniature railroad for visitors to explore the grounds.
Bill Vander Zalm purchased the property in 1984 and transformed it into a Christian-themed attraction with religious symbols throughout the gardens and structures.
The stone buildings and Dutch castle served as filming locations for television series including Stargate SG-1 and Halloweentown II: Kalabar's Revenge.
The former park location at Steveston Highway and No. 5 Road now contains residential buildings and a supermarket, with plans for a 12-acre public park.
The preserved Dutch Castle, a replica of Coevorden Castle from the Netherlands, transitions into a Richmond municipal daycare center.
