Robert Cecil Palmer Secondary School

Robert Cecil Palmer Secondary School is a public secondary school in Richmond serving grades 8 to 12. The building features modern classrooms, science laboratories, a gymnasium, and specialized learning spaces across two floors.

The school opened in 1959 with 769 students as a new public institution. Major renovations took place in 1978 and the late 1990s, with the building reopening in 2000 after substantial reconstruction.

The Griffin mascot comes from the Palmer family coat of arms and symbolizes watchfulness and strength. The Greek motto KUDOS appears on the school crest and reflects the values emphasized throughout student life.

The school operates on a semester system with students taking six to eight courses yearly. Visitors should know that dedicated Personal Learning Time is built into the schedule for project work and teacher conferences.

The school is the only provider of the ACE-IT plumbing program within the Richmond School District. It also offers the Pre-AP Incentive Program, giving students early preparation for advanced courses.
