Robert Cecil Palmer Secondary School, Public secondary school in Richmond, Canada
Robert Cecil Palmer Secondary School is a public high school in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada, covering grades 8 through 12. The two-floor building holds classrooms, science labs, a gymnasium, and several specialized learning spaces.
The school opened in 1959 and welcomed a large first intake of students. The building went through a major reconstruction in the late 1990s and reopened in 2000 in largely renewed form.
The school crest shows a Griffin taken from the Palmer family coat of arms. The Greek word KUDOS also appears on the crest and reflects the values that shape daily school life.
The school sits in a residential area of Richmond and is reachable by public transit. The year runs on a semester system, so course offerings and class schedules shift between terms.
This school is the only one in the Richmond School District to offer the ACE-IT plumbing program, a trade certification path for secondary students. It also runs a Pre-AP program that gives students early exposure to more demanding coursework before they reach advanced levels.
