Located at the eastern end of Perth Bridge, this stone building stands on the southern side, marking the entrance to the city center.
Built around 1800, the structure collected tolls from vehicles crossing Perth Bridge and required locomotives to be preceded by flagbearers.
The building transformed from a tollhouse into J.S. Lees Fish & Poultry Shop in the early 20th century, reflecting changes in local commerce.
The structure maintains its original architectural features and operates under Category C listed building protection, established on August 26, 1977.
A regulation displayed on the building required locomotives with spiked wheels to follow specific procedures after incidents of road surface damage.
