1 West Bridge Street, Perth, Category C listed tollhouse in Perth, Scotland.

1 West Bridge Street is a stone structure from around 1800 positioned at the eastern end of Perth Bridge on its southern side. The building displays the characteristic design of tollhouses from that period and marks the entrance to the city center.

The building was constructed around 1800 to collect fees from vehicles crossing Perth Bridge. It later changed use and eventually gained Category C listed status to protect its heritage.

The building once served as a toll collection point and later transformed into a shop, showing how commercial use of the site changed over time. The structure still reflects these different economic roles through its physical form.

The structure is easily accessible at a main point where the bridge connects to the city center. You can view it clearly while crossing Perth Bridge or walking through the entrance area of the town.

A regulation displayed on the walls addressed concerns about vehicles with spiked wheels damaging the road surface. This rule offers insight into early traffic management and the challenges of new transportation technology.
