Berd Rocks, Protected natural area in Novosibirsk Oblast, Russia
The Berd Rocks extend for 1.3 kilometers along the right bank of the Berd River, forming limestone cliffs that reach heights of 300 meters.
On April 27, 2000, the Berd Rocks received official status as a protected natural monument to preserve its distinct combination of steppe and forest ecosystems.
Local inhabitants refer to the main observation point of Berd Rocks as Zveroboi, which offers panoramic views of the winding Berd River and mixed pine-birch forests.
Visitors can access the site by taking a train or bus to Iskitim, followed by local transportation to Novososedovo village, located 4 kilometers from the rocks.
The site hosts 49 moss species, with many of these bryophytes found exclusively at Berd Rocks within the entire Novosibirsk Oblast region.
