Lakiera Castle, Gothic castle in Zolotaya Kosa, Russia
The Lakiera Castle features rectangular towers, high windows, and intricate stonework details spread across its grey stone facade on the Azov Sea coast.
Built in 1861, the castle served as an estate for Alexander Lakier, a prominent Russian heraldry specialist who documented hundreds of noble family coats of arms.
The castle complex included vineyards, gardens, and a farm, producing its own wine that was exhibited internationally during the 19th century.
The castle requires advance arrangements for visits, as the structure currently stands in need of restoration and protective measures against coastal erosion.
The estate operated its own brick and tile manufacturing facility, marking each product with distinct stamps that identified their origin.
