Plage de Ty Bihan, Beach and sports venue in Carnac, France.

Ty Bihan is a 400-meter sandy beach on the western edge of Grande Plage in Carnac, with views toward the Bay of Quiberon. The right side is suitable for swimming while rocky formations line the left, and parking areas sit directly along the water.

The beach was fortified during World War II when military structures were built along its shore for defense purposes. A bunker still stands at the St Colomban point, bearing witness to that period of occupation and coastal protection.

The beach serves as a gathering place where locals and visitors swim, stroll, and relax by the water throughout the year. Its gentle shoreline and open sandy expanse make it a welcoming destination for families and people seeking informal seaside enjoyment.

The beach offers convenient parking right along the shoreline, making it easy to access the sand and water in minutes. Plan to swim on the right side of the beach where conditions are safest, and stay clear of the rocky left section.

On clear days, the island of Houat appears visible from the shore, offering a distant view that enriches the seaside experience. This natural sightline connects the beach to the broader Atlantic landscape and surrounding coastal region.
