Menhir du Bourg

The Menhir du Bourg is a vertical stone approximately 2 meters tall with an irregular shape standing in central Carnac. The stone rests on a distinctive masonry base with an oval outline that rises about 50 centimeters and encircles the monument.

This Neolithic stone structure originates from prehistoric times and gained official recognition as a historical monument in 1889. It exemplifies the megalithic monuments that characterized early Breton settlements.
